Computer & Laptop Cleaning

Maintaining your computer or laptop involves more than cleaning the outside. Dust gradually blocks the fans, heatsinks, and air vents that remove heat from the CPU and GPU. Thermal paste between the chip and heatsink can also lose effectiveness over time, reducing heat transfer and increasing operating temperatures.

We recommend checking and cleaning your device every 6 months. Gaming systems and devices used in dusty environments may need service sooner.

What dust and restricted airflow can cause

  • Dust buildup
  • Restricted airflow
  • Higher temperatures
  • Performance loss
  • Instability and component wear

Why professional cleaning matters

Your CPU and GPU generate heat whenever the device is running. The cooling system must move this heat through the thermal material, heatsink, and fans. When dust blocks airflow or the thermal interface stops working efficiently, temperatures rise and the device protects itself by reducing performance.

Overheating and thermal throttling

When temperatures become too high, the CPU or GPU automatically reduces its speed. This can cause lower FPS, slower applications, lag, and inconsistent performance.

Loud or constantly running fans

Blocked heatsinks force the fans to work harder. Fans may remain at high speed, become noisy, vibrate, or wear out earlier.

FPS drops and stuttering

Gaming laptops, desktop PCs, GPUs, and consoles may lose performance when heat cannot leave the system efficiently.

Random shutdowns and restarts

A severely overheated device may freeze, restart, or shut down to protect its components.

Accelerated component wear

Long-term heat can accelerate wear on fans, batteries, power-delivery components, storage devices, and the motherboard.

Dust-blocked airflow

Dust collects between the fan and heatsink where it can form a dense layer that cannot be removed by cleaning only the outside vents.

Crashes and possible data corruption

Repeated overheating and unexpected shutdowns can interrupt active work, game saves, system updates, or file operations.

Reduced device lifespan

Regular maintenance helps the cooling system work correctly and reduces unnecessary thermal stress on expensive hardware.

What is thermal paste?

Thermal paste fills microscopic gaps between the CPU or GPU and its heatsink. Without good contact, heat cannot transfer efficiently from the chip into the cooling system.

Over time, thermal paste may dry out, crack, separate, or move away from the hottest area. Correctly removing the old material and applying a suitable new thermal compound helps restore consistent heat transfer.

  • improves contact between the chip and heatsink
  • helps the cooling system remove heat efficiently
  • can reduce thermal throttling caused by poor heat transfer
  • must be applied in the correct amount
  • must be compatible with the specific device

Not every device uses standard thermal paste. Some models use thermal pads, thermal putty, phase-change material, or liquid metal. Zeoon checks device compatibility before applying specialized thermal materials.

Temperature improvement depends on the device design, previous material condition, dust level, ambient temperature, and whether hardware damage already exists.

What is included in professional cleaning?

  1. 1

    Initial inspection

We inspect the device condition, airflow, fan behavior, visible dust, and reported temperature or performance problems.

  2. 2

    Safe disassembly

The device is opened according to the selected service package and model-specific procedure.

  3. 3

    Internal dust removal

Dust is removed from fans, heatsinks, vents, filters, and accessible internal surfaces using appropriate tools.

  4. 4

    Cooling-system cleaning

Fan blades and heatsink fins are cleaned carefully so air can move through the cooling system again.

  5. 5

    Thermal-material service

When included in the selected package, old thermal material is removed and the selected paste, phase-change material, or other compatible solution is applied.

  6. 6

    Thermal-pad inspection

Thermal pads are inspected where applicable. Replacement is performed only when included, selected, or confirmed as necessary for that device.

  7. 7

    Reassembly and testing

The device is reassembled and checked for fan operation, airflow, temperatures, stability, and normal startup.

The exact level of disassembly and included work depends on the selected cleaning package.

Signs your device needs cleaning

fans have become louder than before
the device becomes unusually hot
gaming FPS drops after several minutes
applications become slower under load
the device freezes, restarts, or shuts down
hot air is weak even though the fans are loud
visible dust is collecting around vents
six months have passed since the last internal cleaning
the device has been used around pets, smoke, or heavy dust
CPU or GPU temperatures remain unusually high

Protect your performance before overheating becomes a repair.
